Hello and welcome to Mr. Green's SASH Website. I am excited to begin the 2018 - 2019 school year. We have a lot of fun and exciting activities planned for this year. To start, I would like to thank you for allowing your student to attend our school and we look forward to working together in their growth academically and socially.
I am originally from Michigan with a bachelors in Business Administration and a masters in Teaching Business Education. This is my sixth year teaching and I have a passion for developing strong relationships with students where they fight to see change in themselves. I try to motivate through seeing life through their eyes but building their ability to see into their future. My teaching strategies involve new 21st century learning strategies and I utilize professional development to continue my growth as a teacher.
I teach in the STEM program, and I will teach engineering, computer science, video game design and robotics. In engineering, we will compete for the second year in a row in FUTURE CITY. This is a competition where students look into specific problems that may evolve in the future and determine ways to solve those issues and create sustainable cities of the future. We received third place and won an award for best engineering solution for the environment. We look to compete for first place this year with the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. In computer science, will utilize multiple resources to teach students the basics of coding. In video game design, we will focus on building students creativity through projects with Microsoft Minecraft. In advanced video game design, we build games on Unity that students can share, develop and create for offline and online purposes. Lastly, our robotics program has increased its exposure as a competition team in FLL (First Lego League). We will look to build upon our success from last year and make it to states for the second year in a row.
